Twisting a rumor back into the truth

Happy Friday Everyone! Hope everyone is having a good breeding day!

Today I want to touch on a bit of miss-information going around about the Twist horses. As some of you may be confused I hope I can clear this up for everyone.

The Twist horses for each month are random drops from 2 specific Breeds together. They can drop randomly from the 5th of each month to the 5th of the following month.

When we announce which 2 Horse Breeds you need to breed together for the upcoming months twist you can start birthing bundles right away so your horses have time to grow up a bit before the Twist for the next month actually starts.  You do not have to birth it between the 5th of the month and the 5th of the following month. There have been some months where I didn’t have to birth as many bundles because I was already breeding a particular Breed needed for the Twist so I already had adult horses ready to go!

So, I hope this clears up any rumor out there that you have to birth the horses you use for the Twist horses between the 5th of each month and the 5th of the following month you can birth it any time you like!

***Just a reminder there are only few more days to keep breeding for the Spotted Exmoor! So get your Skewbald and Spotted Rocky Mountains ready to try for next month’s Spotted Rocky Skewbald!! My pens are ready to go (see pics below) are yours?!?!?

Until next week Happy Breeding!!

Spotlight on Cleaning

Happy Thursday Everyone!  Today I want to shine the Spotlight on a question that I get asked a lot.  How do you breed what people call “clean” horses?  Well it’s not as simple as it might sound!

First let me explain what I have heard referred to as “clean”.  That would be a horse that has no traits other than a long mane and long tail and I believe double gleams are acceptable.  It would contain no lusters, glooms, colors, opals, wings, hooves, socks, horns or saddles.  Just a basic horse of any coat with long mane, long tail and the gleams if you like!

This is the basis for all my projects.  I start each project by getting a group of “clean” horses and use them to build on.  I think most of you have discovered it seems to be much easier to add traits than it is to remove them.  So when I set up groups to try for Albinos, Galaxy, Elemental, Zodiac or even the fabulous Twist horses I always use “clean” horses so that I know if I am lucky enough to get one of the “specials” I am breeding for it will have a better chance at only containing minimal traits therefore showing off the beautiful coats that we all try so hard to get!

It is worth the time and effort to set up special breeding sections on your ranch that constantly supply you with “clean” horses so that you have a never ending supply to use when you are trying for special things!

Below I have attached pictures showing how amazingly pretty a “clean” White Walker looks with and without the gleams.  As you can see the gleam does make the horses look very pretty! I have also included a picture of a “clean” Black Walker and a Black Walker with gleams so you can see the difference there as well.

So all you have to do now is chose which one you like the best and then use that as your basis for building each of your projects on!  Once you have your basis for your projects then you can begin to add the traits you want to create whatever horse your imagination can dream up!

Until next time, Happy Breeding!

Spotlight Gone Wild!

Helllloooooo Amaretto! Today’s Spotlight is going to get a little wild, Dawild that is!  I am completely obsessed with the Dawilds that came from the Twist K-9s a few months ago.  They are the cutest little dogs in the kennels!  I have big plans for my Dawilds and I want to share some of those plans with you here today in my Spotlight.

Being a hippie chick at heart the Rainbow Dawild is the perfect K-9 for me!  As you can see in the picture below with all their colorful spots there are many things that you can match to them.  Right now I am working on getting the Cherry and Grape noses into my Dawilds, but any of the nose colors will look amazing on them.  I have not succeeded in getting one of the noses on them yet but I could not wait to share my plans with all of you.  A little imagination and you can see exactly what I’m going for looking at the pictures below.

Once I get those noses on them then all I have to do is hold them down and paint their nails, errrr, I mean add Paw Polish to match their noses and *Viola* one amazing Dawild!!

There are lots of different noses and paw polishes already available so use your imagination and start adding what you like to your very own Dawilds and if you get one you’re really proud of be sure to send me a picture in-world, I love to see what you all are working on too!

Until next time, Happy Breeding Everyone!

Saddle Up!

Hey guys it’s Saturday! Hope everyone is enjoying a Saturday and taking it easy!

I wanted to say thank you to everyone who bought the 2014 Limited Edition Summer Horse! Well everyone who has been breeding two together has a chance of getting 1 of 4 saddles!

That’s right the cat is out of the bag so I wanted to take the time to show you, the new saddles!

Saddles

Green, Black, White, and Orange!
These colors all compliment the bridle and the socks, I wonder if someone did that on purpose.

These saddles do have the ability to pass on, but remember the trait must first be shown to pass the saddle. Meaning any offspring from your Limited Editions not showing a saddle will not pass a saddle down the line!

The 2014 Limited Edition Summer Horse are going off sale tonight so you got a little while to still get yours but not much longer!
This is Ava wishing you all happy breeding and great weekend!
