It’s National Lamington Day!

Happy Saturday everyone ~ hope you are all having a super day!!

Today is National Lamington Day!! Well you say what is a Lamington?

A lamington is a sweet snack from Australia that is cake-based and generally eaten for morning tea, afternoon tea, or high tea. This delicious treat was a kitchen mix-up that became Australia’s most famous culinary icon.

The History of Lamington Day
At over a century old, this treat was named after the Governor of Queensland, Lord Lamington. The story goes that he was having his favorite yellow sponge cake served for his guests when the maid-servant accidentally dropped the cake into melted chocolate. When his Lordship heard he was the one who recommended them to roll the squares in coconut shavings to make them less messy for guests to eat with their tea.
There is even an Australian Lamington appreciation society (ALAS) which is committed to the preservation of their world famous Lamingtons, and annually celebrating Lamington Day.

How to Celebrate Lamington Day
Lamington Day would be a great day to try out a new recipe and have your lamington and invite friends over for afternoon tea!

Enjoy this treat that was originated in Australia and while you are out it why not check out this gorgeous Flags of the World eye from the land of the Lamington origin!!

Until next time this is Snookie saying have a terrific weekend and Happy Breeding!!

National Lollipop Day!

Hello everyone and Happy Friday! Did you know that today is National Lollipop day?! The National Confectioners Association founded National Lollipop Day. George Smith, owner of Bradley Smith Company, invented and patented the Lollipop in 1908. Legend has it, that George named the Lollipop after his favorite racehorse ” Lolly Pop”. In honor of this yummy day, I wanted to take a moment to share with you all the fun lollipop traits Amaretto has for you to enjoy!

The first trait I want to tell you about is the Lollipop Confection eye. When the version 3.2 Horse update came out on January 30, 2012 these exciting new eyes were hidden in new starters. More confection eyes were added in the 4.0 update released September 9, 2013. The Confection Eyes are one set of many exciting possible Non-Starter eyes that can come from breeding “Starter Coats”. You can have a chance at one of these exciting Non-Starter Confection Eyes by breeding any horse with a starter horse or by breeding together two starter horses. These eyes CAN be passed on.

And that leads me to the Looney Leg Lollipop!! Breeders could get this delicious Looney Leg trait by breeding 2 Lollipop Eyes together December 1 -December 31, 2016.The Looney Legs were introduced to breeders on June 1, 2016! The Looney Leg replaced the Crazed Horses. Starting on the 1st of the month Amaretto will announce what you must breed together to get that months Looney Legs! To get a Looney Leg you must have bred two horses that have the trait that was announced for that particular month!

This are deliciously adorable traits and would make a great addition to many breeding creations!

Happy Lollipop Day!!

Until next time….

Remembering Nelson Mandela

Happy Hump Day Fellow Breeders!

On what would have been his 100th birthday, we remember the former president of South Africa as a champion for human rights, dignity and freedom. Imagine the impact we could have if everyone followed his example, and tried to make a difference in the lives of others.

Known and loved around the world for his commitment to peace, negotiation and reconciliation, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was South Africa’s first democratically elected president (1994 to 1999). Mandela was an anti-apartheid revolutionary and political leader, as well as a philanthropist with an abiding love for children. Mandela was born on 18 July 1918 and died on 5 December 2013.

Every year on July 18, the world reflects on Nelson Mandela’s legacy, we give thanks for his life, his leadership and his devotion to humanity and to humanitarian causes. The message behind Mandela Day is simple – everyone has the ability and the responsibility to change the world for the better. If each one of us heeds the call to simply do something good every day, we can live Nelson Mandela’s legacy and help build the country of our dreams.

Nelson Mandela followed three rules throughout his life, which he did at great personal sacrifice:

  • Free Yourself
  • Free Others
  • Serve Every Day

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” – Nelson Mandela

After his death in 2013, Amaretto celebrated Nelson Mandela’s life with a random drop eye in the horse breedables. Look for this commemorative eye in the third-party market today!

From December 7, 2013 until December 9, 2013 you had the possibility to get
the ‘In Memory of Nelson Mandela’ eye from any combination of breeding.
This Eye DOES have the ability to pass on

Till next time…Happy Breeding!

National I Love Horses Day

Hello everyone I hope you all are having a stupendous Saturday.

Did you know that tomorrow is NATIONAL I LOVE HORSES DAY?  Yes, that’s right on July 15 we recognize the love of one magnificent creature.!!

With over 200 breeds, these spirited animals have given humans much to love. Their loyalty and devotion throughout history may only be a portion of the reasons to love them. Not just a means of transportation, horses cleared fields, fought wars, moved cattle and were companions on long lonely trails. They were a cornerstone of survival in a burgeoning nation.

The tallest horse breed is the Shire. The stallions of this draft horse breed tower at 17 hands above the tiny Falabella, which grows to only eight hands and is the smallest breed of horse.

The quarter horse, named for its speed on a short track, is one the of three fastest breeds of horses. Thoroughbreds follow quarter horses for longer distance, but Arabians outlast both breeds for endurance on the longest races.

Celebrate by visiting a local stable for a horseback ride, a national park where wild horses still roam or riding your own horse if you have one. Post on social media using #NationalILoveHorsesDay.

How lucky are we to have our beautiful Amaretto horses to breed and to love!!  Take some time out of your busy weekend pick your favorite (I know that is a hard thing to do – I love them all) and check out some of the beautiful riding trails that are here.  This is one of those places you may want to visit to ride and relax –  Yosemite Valley

Until next time this is Snookie hoping you all love your horses as much as I love mine and Happy Breeding!!

Protect Yourself From Copybotters!

Hey everyone and Happy Friday! Today I just wanted to address an on going issue in world of SL with copybotters. What is a copybotter? ANYONE that copies our sculpts, textures or scripts and uses them in world, to display or sell is a copybotter. Our products are copyrighted with the United States Copyright office, so copying them is against the law, period. We have reported any that we find, but we can only do so much, You all have to protect yourselves by following a few very simple things:

**ALWAYS CHECK THE CREATOR of the Horse/K-9/Barnyard Bird/Ponie Pals. It should always without exception be:

JJ Cerna (Horses)

Ancient Biscuit (K-9s)

Mazelina Menna (Barnyard Birds).

PlayfulPonie Resident (Amaretto Ponie Pals).

**Use caution when buying/selling breedables to avatars that are only one day old or have no profile information such as picture etc.

**Check your market stalls often, they have been setting fake breedables for sale in other peoples sales pens.

**Report any copybotted item you find to the sim owner as well as file an abuse report with Linden Labs.

**ALSO BE AWARE of residents spoffing their name to look like an official name these residents are often very very young and have common mistakes ( like putting JJ Cerna as jjcena Resident or Ancient Biscuit as AncientBiscuiit Resident ) ONLY buy the product if it is created by one of the above 4 names.

Amaretto can not be there to help you at every breedable sale nor can we refund you if you buy a copybotted breedables. You have to protect yourself against these people in secondlife, if you do fall victim to one of these scams the best thing to do is file a abuse report them to linden labs.

Here is a helpful link to our Terms of Use Agreement, just in case anyone has any questions 🙂

Spread the word so that all breeders will know how to protect themselves!!

Always be sure to protect yourself!! Happy Breeding!

Until next time…

Showcase Spotted Shetland!

Hey everyone! I wanted to take some time and show off my favorite new show horse! The Showcase Spotted Shetland! I am in love with this horse, its a definite show stopper!

It was definitely a twist when Amaretto added the Show Horses! So it was no surprise when Amaretto brought them back in 2018!

Beginning July 1, 2018 to July 31, 2018 any bundle dropped from the breeding of any 2 Spotted Shetland horses had the chance at being a Showcase Spotted Shetland.

The Showcase Spotted Shetland can be randomly birthed by breeding together any two horses that have Spotted Shetland coats of any color.
However, the Ornate Eye and the Ornate Saddle DO have the ability to pass.

I can not wait to see these new traits worked into your projects! So keep your eyes out for these beauties!
This is Ava over and out!
Happy Breeding Everyone!
