Spotlight on a “Surprisingly Beautiful” Project

Happy Thursday!  This week I am super excited for you all to read about this fabulous project horse!  Not only does it sound like a beautiful horse but I love projects you can tell a lot of thought and work went into!

I’m sure many of you have seen Ember Rhapsody talking in the main Amaretto Group and now she is going to share this fabulous Trojan Horse project with us all!  Just like when the Ancient Greeks used the 1st Trojan horse to surprise the Trojans this project is going to capture your heart!  This is what Ember had to say about her very creative project:

I came up with this idea when my horses dropped me a lovely little Roach Mane Silver Roan with Horn Spirit, Gemini Emerald Eyes and Gold Bridle.  She was so pretty, and instantly reminded me of the Trojan horse that was used to infiltrate the City of Troy.  Their colour and speckling looks a lot like marble, so I think of these horses as ‘statues’ of what the Trojan horse may have looked like 🙂  This first picture has my inspiration horse in the foreground.

1silverTrojans

As you can see in the first photo, the Roan’s colour doesn’t blend so smoothly, making a bit of a ‘break’ on the neck of the horse.  So I decided a nice Low Luster would smooth that out, and I was right!  It also adds to the polished marble idea.  You can see her pretty Gemini Emerald eyes up close.  I love the way the eyes ‘pop’ on that coat, without overwhelming it.  My concept of the Emerald eye is that the precious stones added to the value of the ‘gift’ that the inhabitants of Troy took into their city.

2geminiEmerald

I was blessed with a pretty little stud colt with Low Hair Luster on his Roach Mane.  I really like how it defines the edges well and keeps with the idea of polished marble.   I don’t have the Upright Long Tail into this group yet.  Many of the artistic renditions of the Trojan Horse show an upright long tail, is why I chose this trait to finish the base look.

3low luster trojans

This final photo of the group showing the speckling on their coats, bringing that marble idea firmly home. And of course that Scorpion Brand is perfect to reflect the warrior nature of the gift horse. Its hidden sting changed the course of history!

As to the Opals, I’m undecided if they belong in the project or not. If anyone else decides to try breeding these and comes up with a double Opal on the Low Luster, I would love to see it. I think the Opal sheen may add to the polished marble idea.

Thank you so much Ember for sharing your project with all of us, it is one surprisingly beautiful horse!  Get it? Surprisingly beautiful!  haha

Until next time, Happy breeding!!

Interview With an Amaretto Breeder

Happy Friday Everyone !! Hope everyone is having a good breeding day !!

This week I had the pleasure to interview Micia Pearl she is in the group so be sure to tell her a big hello when you see her . I hope you enjoy reading about Micia an her Amaretto Breedables.

Please tell the community a little about yourself. Where you are from and what brought you to Second Life?
My name is Micia, I was born and I live in a beautiful seaside town in Sicily/Italy, below Etna’s volcano. I joined Second Life more than 5 years ago because I got curious after I watched a video concerning a song of an italian singer, video made in Second Life.

Which Amaretto Breedables do you own?
I own mainly horses and few K-9s, in the past I used to breed even birds

How did you get started in breedables?
At the beginning of 2011 I joined the wonderful world of Amaretto. A friend of mine gave me my first pair of horses, a Brown Bay and a Brown Appaloosa, these horses are still in my heart, my “Chocolate” project has been realized breeding actualy Brown Bay coat.

*Do you own other breedables besides Amaretto?
Yes I own also some Wild Cats

*What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto Horses?
I work on several projects, i love designed horses.
Lately I’m working on a still not released project I named “Green Lantern” totally inspired by the cartoon superhero. I’m using as base the “Amaretto 4th Birthday” coat,
Eerie glow eyes and some other green traits.
I’m working also on some other projects:
*DeniMore horse: Denim Blue Crazed Coat with True Blue traits
*Love of Mom: 7 reds with Stay at Home Parent Appreciation
*All Yellow: White Walker Double Yellow Eerie Glow with Wing Marigold
*Chocolat.: My old Brown Bay with Wing Maple and Hot Cocoa Eye
*Dracula: Black Clydalusian with Double Bloody
….and some more

What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto K-9s
Atm I have no projects in mind for K.9s, they are in my land wagging their tails in company of my horses 🙂

What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto BarnYard Bird ?
No, i don’t breed them anymore

What is your favorite Amaretto Breedable ?
Amaretto horses !!!!!! …. I love them!

What are some other things that you enjoy doing in Second Life when you’re not taking care of your breedables?

I enjoy spending my time with my partner and love Marco Denimore. We share the same deep passion for Amaretto horses, we look after them like they are our kids, and we save also sometime for ourselves.
We live in a full SIM, full of horses, dogs and cats and we share our projects and dreams concerning SL and RL and we do the best to achieve all of them.
Since I met Marco my horses have become more beautiful, listening to his suggestions and catching his experience in this wonderful world. Thank you Love!! 🙂

I have included some pictures of Micia favorite Amaretto Breedables

So until next week Happy Breeding !!

Spotlight on a Perfect Project

Happy Thursday!  This week the Spotlight is going to shine brightly on someone I’m sure you’ve all seen at one time or another helping out in group chat.  You know her! You love her! That’s right it’s the one and only Molly Lundquist!! Miss Molly, our favorite group chat breaker, not only spends a lot of her time helping out breeders in group she also has some pretty fabulous horses breeding.  She has been kind enough to let me shine my Spotlight on one of her favorite projects, her “Perfect Black Walkers”. This is what Molly had to say about her project:

One of the many projects I am working on is a total Black Walker. As everyone knows, I am a little particular about which traits go on which coats.

Yes, I know the Walker is an older coat, but I really love how they look 🙂

My idea of a perfect Black Walker is:

Coat: Black Walker

Eye: Ghost

Mane: Long

Tail: Long

Coat Gloom

Hair Gloom

Skull Branding

Ear Size Scanty

Ear Style Half Droop Left

Socks Black

Wild Hair: Black Walker

Wing: Nightfall

Horn Shadow

Bridle Black

Saddle Black

Speed Class S

Stamina Class S

No gleams, lusters or opals are allowed on my Black Walkers. I also only use long mane and tail, and no lanky ears. I have all the traits that I want to use, I just need to put them all on one horse, and that’s NOT easy when you only have a total of 6-10 horses per project…lol.

Now I’m sure everyone out there has their own definition of perfect but Molly has inspired me to start adding racing traits to some of my projects.  Hopefully you find the projects I shine my Spotlight on each week inspiring as well!  Check out the pictures of Molly’s project below.

Until next time Happy Breeding!
