Quad Red in the Spotlight

Happy Thursday!  This week the spotlight is shining on a red hot project that I think many of you will love!  I especially love it when these projects come about by accident and then blossom into something more.

This week MiaKodah Resident is sharing her “Quad Red” Project with us all.  I know red has been a popular color for a lot of the projects in the community but I think you will all find this combination of traits to be creative and very pretty! This is what MiaKodah had to say about her Quad Red project:

Well, I’m not exactly sure if this project was started on purpose. Originally I borrowed a nice bloody spirit horn stud from Adam to breed with my only Clydausian female… The white walker bundle had the bloody spirit horn, and from her grandparents had picked up a beautiful akicita eye and the red velvet wing.

I loved the look of the horse so much, and when she finally passed me a boy with the same eye and horn on a white walker, the project was born.

Mother and son have made very beautiful babies, which have been bred back to one another to create a the quad red project.

We’ve since added a bloody white wing dos, but it hasn’t passed yet, and a little white double candy cane is the newest addition. So if we can get the wild candy cane hair, candy cane bridal and bloody wings in the mix… we will have very unique “melted candy canes”. And well, if it doesn’t happen… I’m perfectly happy with the gorgeous quads 🙂

Coat: White Walker

Eye: Akicita

Mane: Long

Tail: Long

Coat Gleam High

Hair Gleam High

Socks Red

Wing: Red Velvet

Horn Bloody Spirit

See I told you it was an awesome project!  Check out the pictures of some of her work below.  If you have a creative project you’re working be sure to send me a notecard and you might end up in the Spotlight too!  Until next time, Happy breeding!

Review on Auctions

Today I went to a silent Patron Auction at Forest Knolls Market
Sedan7777 had a silent patron auction running from May 9th through this morning, May 13th. A lot of people came out during those days and a lot of biding was going on. You can really get some awesome horses at these auctions if you keep a check on what you are biding on . The boards at Forest Knolls send a message to your local chat when someone has bid higher than you. I was there at the end of the auction and everyone seemed to be enjoying it.

Interview with an Amaretto Breeder

Happy Friday Everyone!!! Hope everyone is having a good breeding day!

This week I had the pleasure of interviewing StarellanDMoonlight Resident, if you see her give her a big hello.

Which Amaretto Breedables do you own?
Horses and Doggies \o/

How did you get started in breedables?
In April of 2011 thought I would just take care of a few. What happened was I saw about 8 or so horses in a mall in SL that were sleeping. (I SL shopped then a lot for clothes and fun things to have or do like boats bikes etc.). I thought they were old and getting ready to retire or disappear not knowing anything about them (I had a friend who took care of Amaretto horses. I had seen hers so I assumed I did know everything about them then). So because I tried to talk to them and touched them they didn’t move. I naturally thought they were old and only had a few SL weeks left. I bought all of them, very cheaply and the owner of showed up after I had bought them said thank you for buying. I said no problem I can do this for couple weeks and it’ll be fun. Then she enlightened me how mistaken I was but she did help me to set up corral for them and gave me information on how to take care of them.
I had big place, I’ll take care of them feed them a few weeks till they r gone and that’ll be the end of my horse breeding. Then one of them had a bundle and I was like this is so cool I can’t ever leave them! I was hooked completely! Then there was the gold Palomino and Arabians and then the Walkers. I was mush in SL horse history. That was in April of 2011.

Do you own other breedables besides Amaretto?
No

What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto Horses?
I have several projects going on at this time. It’s the only way I keep busy with my horses. Crazed seems to be my favorite projects at this time. I want all of them in every color.

What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto K-9s?
Those would be my Birthday babies with the monthly Flags of the World eyes and trying building up their traits, I’m stuck in the 8’s right now. The little polished nails are my favorite trait to date. The girls had to have painted the boys paws though I’m sure.

What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto Barnyard Bird?
I haven’t gotten a barnyard bird yet. I have few hundred horses most all the time and about a dozen dogs. So birds would be too much for my horses at this time. They are insanely jealous of my other Amaretto Breedables. The horses tried feeding the dog’s horse food knowing perfectly well the dogs would stay sick. (I have very smart horses)

What is your favorite Amaretto Breedable?
HORSES
Smiles
Puppies are second
What are some other things that you enjoy doing in Second Life when you’re not taking care of your breedables?
OH!
There’s other things to do in SL?….winks…

Hope you enjoyed reading all about Star. Thank you Star for letting me interview you this week.

I have included some of Stars favorite Amaretto Breedables

Until next week Happy Breeding!!!

Spotlight on an inspiring project

Happy Thursday!  I cannot tell you how excited I was to find out about the project that I get to shine my Spotlight on this week.  This project ties in with one of my absolute favorite trilogy of books ever!  The lovely Borella Penucca came up with a brilliant concept for these horses and I am so thankful she is sharing her vision with us all here today in my Spotlight!

Borella Penucca is the brilliant mind behind the “Shades of Grey” Project.  This project includes 2 horses, one for Sir Grey and one for His Ana and her choices in which horses and what traits to use is awesome! Her reasons for choosing to do this project even inspired me! This is what Borella had to say about her project and the list of traits for each.

I am glad that you want to present my project “Shades of Grey”.  I thought I would like created another beautiful coat as a Walker and Arabian and forms a contrast to the many colorful projects. The movie title “Shades of Grey” gave me inspiration to do so. People may see the world not only black and white, there are many shades in between and I would wish myself that all people recognize this and thus be tolerant towards people “shades” with others.

Such a beautiful idea behind a beautiful project!  Now that’s what I call taking inspiration from art and using it to provide a positive message to one and all.  I hope that you all are inspired by Borella’s project and find inspiration for your own projects that send peace and love into the Universe!

Until next time, Happy Breeding!
