Beeeee Happy!

Did you know that yesterday was World Bee Day? Bees and other pollinators, such as butterflies, bats and hummingbirds, are increasingly under threat from human activities.

Pollination is, however, a fundamental process for the survival of our ecosystems. Nearly 90% of the world’s wild flowering plant species depend, entirely, or at least in part, on animal pollination, along with more than 75% of the world’s food crops and 35% of global agricultural land. Not only do pollinators contribute directly to food security, but they are key to conserving biodiversity.

To raise awareness of the importance of pollinators, the threats they face and their contribution to sustainable development, the UN designated 20 May as World Bee Day.

The goal is to strengthen measures aimed at protecting bees and other pollinators, which would significantly contribute to solving problems related to the global food supply and eliminate hunger in developing countries.

We all depend on pollinators and it is, therefore, crucial to monitor their decline and halt the loss of biodiversity.

Amaretto has its own bees, including one surprising LE that people often forget about. Thats right, in October 2011 the Breast Cancer Awareness Horses were released in efforts to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser. 100% of the proceeds were given directly to Making Strides for Breast Cancer to benefit the American Cancer Society. One of the four horses was the Boo-Bee Horse which had a stinger for a tail! The coat could not pass, but the Ghost eye did.

In April of 2019 came the 6.01 horse update, which included a brand new Charmed Bumble Bee Shetland, with its cute little antennae and wings. The coat of a charmed does not pass, but the Honey Bee eye DOES pass.

With the monthly Craved special breedings, Amaretto brought us the Craved Honey Bee coats. Starting May 1, 2020 until May 31, 2020, by breeding any combination of the special announced coats you could get one of these adorable animals. For horses you needed to breed the Gold Piebald, Pintomino Black, Honey Skewbald, and the Akhal-Teke Honey to get these.

For dogs if you bred the Black Schneagle, Canary Beagle, Tan Bi-Color Beagle, and Red Tri-Color Beagle you could get one of these coats.

To get the Craved Honey Bee chicken you needed to breed the Gold Campine and Silver Lakenvelder birds.

And for the Craved Honey Bee Ponie Pal you needed to breed the Cinnamon Bandit, Yellowie Fabulous and the Star Golden Ponie Pals.

All of the Craved Honey Bee coats can pass, and would look great with some gold traits added, so use your imagination! Get Bzzzzzzeee!

If you’re in the mood for a decadent sweet treat to eat, go grab your fork! Today, May 19th is National Devil’s Food Cake Day, an annual food “holiday” that celebrates the rich and moist chocolaty dessert – Devil’s Food Cake.

Amaretto Serves Up Some Devilishly Good Traits!

Devil’s Food Cake is just one of 26 Confections Eye traits available in Amaretto Horses.

These eyes first hit the grid in starters that came out with the Version 3.2 update back in January 2012. More eyes were added in September 2013, when the 4.0 update was released. The last 4 Confection Eyes were added in April 2019, with the 6.01 update. Bringing us to our current total. You can have a chance at one of these exciting Non-Starter Confection Eyes by breeding any horse with a starter horse or by breeding together two starter horses. Confection Eyes CAN be passed on.

The best part about Confection Eyes is that by breeding together any two horses that have them, you have a chance of getting a special Confection Horse! The Confection Horse you receive will be random, but, you just might get a Devil’s Food Cake Confection Horse!

On Amaretto’s 4th Birthday (September 1, 2014), 6 Confection Horses were revealed to honor the occasion. Confection Horses can NOT pass their coat. However, breeding a Confection Horse with another Confection Horse or with any other horse with Confection Eyes will slightly increase your chance for another Confection Horse!

So you see, you really can have your cake and breed it, too! Get some Devil’s Food Cake traits today!

Until next time…HAPPY BREEDING!

Ponie Oasis!!

Happy Sunday!!! Hope everyone is having a great day out there.

Today is the perfect day to talk about the Ponie Oasis. Amaretto has set up this Oasis for your Vintage Ponies or for Ponies that you just can’t breed anymore (although remember you can always put those ponies in your bags and pull them out at any time since they do not age out and give them some Ponie Noodle Soup).

Ponie Oasis is a place where your Ponies can run free and eat never-ending bowls of gummies, and for being the great Ponie breeder you are, Amaretto gives you Ponie Points when you send a Ponie to Oasis.

WARNING!!! Once you send a Ponie to Oasis there is no turning back and it is unrecoverable!!

Sending a Ponie to Oasis

So first let’s start with how to send your Vintage Ponie to Ponie Oasis. It’s pretty simple actually. First Left Click on your Vintage Ponie:

This will bring up your Ponie menu, you will want to locate Settings, this will send you to the next screen where you will want to click the >> symbol to go to the next page. Once there you will see Ponie Oasis.

When you click Ponie Oasis, you will get one final pop-up which will show you how many points you get and confirm that you do indeed want to send your Ponie to Oasis.

Oasis Ponie Value

How many points you receive is based on that individual Ponie Pal. But here is a breakdown of how points are handled:

Starter Style = 100 Ponie Points
Hidden Style = 200 Ponie Points
Starter Eye = 100 Ponie Points
Hidden Eye = 200 Ponie Points
Starter Mane = 100 Ponie Points
Hidden Mane = 200 Ponie Points
Starter Tail = 100 Ponie Points
Hidden Tail = 200 Ponie Points
Every Generation lost = 100 Ponie Points

Other Hidden Traits = 100 Ponie Points

So say you have the Ponie above and want to know how that was calculated. Well here’s what the server did to figure out my Ponie was worth 1700 points:

Descendants: 11 (900 Ponie Points)
Style: Flutterby Periwinkle (200 Ponie Points)
Eye: Periwinkle (200 Ponie Points)
Mane: Long (200 Ponie Points)
Tail: Short (100 Ponie Points)
Horn Style: Unicorn
Horn Color: Periwinkle (100 Ponie Points)

Remember that Horn Style and Color are counted as one trait. So if you add those up, you will see it comes to 1700 Ponie Points. As you can see it does actually work in your benefit to breed out your Ponies.

Ponie Oasis Vender

Now, after all this you are probably wondering what you can get from the Oasis Vender and how you can see how many points you have. Well just head to any Amaretto Ponie Store and you will see the Oasis Vender.

Here are the prices of the items listed:

Do The Chicken Dance!

What days is it? It’s National Dance like a Chicken Day! Now you don’t really have to dance like a chicken but if you want to learn check this out.

For those of you who won’t dance, you can always have your Barnyard Birds on movement, animations and sound activated, and watch them move around like real birds.

With the release of Amaretto Barnyard Birds on May 4, 2012 a new dimension was added to Amaretto Ranch Breedables. It started with four little starter breeds, American Game, California Gray, Partridge Leghorn, and Rhode Island White. All actual bird breeds, they soon gave rise to a myriad of other real breeds. In fact, it wasn’t until the Exotic Birds showed up that things started getting weird lol. The Exotic Birds are Amaretto’s version of the Charmed Horses, with something else thrown in. Exotic Birds are Special/Rare Birds that will give a gradual boost to the Vivacity of birds within 10 meters over a period of time, and like the Charmed with horses, can be born at random from ANY bird breeding combination. The vivacity boost they can give works on ducks also, and even works after they retire. It really helps save on orange rinds and lettuce. The five Exotic birds as of now are the Egghead, Rubber Chicken, Robotic with the Blue Beacon eye, the Egghead Noir, and the Egghead Rainbow. A little hint. If you ever get a Rubber Chicken, turn the sounds on, you’ll love it

To give an added twist, Exotic Birds that are Special/Rare Birds have the possibility of being found in the Starter Packs! The eyes and breed on these birds do not pass, however you could get extremely lucky and birth another Exotic Bird. When you breed an Exotic Bird (whether it is with another Exotic Bird or any other bird) you DO have an increased chance at receiving another random Exotic Bird.

Remember, the non-Exotic offspring of Exotic Birds do NOT have an increased chance of producing Exotic Birds. So get out there and don’t be chicken. Breed those birds! BOK BOK

Let’s Talk Horse Racing & Training!

Happy Hump Day Breeders!

When the version 3.5 horse update came out on July 6, 2012, the update contained exciting new traits hidden in new starters. You have a chance at the racing traits by breeding any horse with a starter horse or by breeding together two starter horses. Additionally, offspring of horses with racing traits have a chance of receiving the racing trait from their parents.

To race or train your horse, they MUST have Speed Class & Stamina Class listed in their traits and you will need a HUD. To get a HUD, click on your horse for its menu. Then click Help.

A submenu will pop up for the HUD. Click HUD and your horse will send you the Amaretto Horse HUD. Click “Accept”. The HUD is now in your objects folder in your inventory.

Attach the HUD to your avatar by adding it from your inventory.* Then, attach your horse to your avatar by taking it into your inventory and adding it. *You can only wear one HUD at a time.

Let’s take a look at the Horse HUD

How to Race
Enter Racing Mode by clicking on Racing in the Racing Menu.
*Move using the arrow keys or W A S D keys.
*Toggle sprint on and off using Page Down/ or C keys (amount of sprinting time/ or stamina reservoir used for sprinting is based upon Stamina Class).
*Jump by Tapping Page Up/E Keys.
*You are now racing (The speed of the horse is based upon Speed Class).
Click Racing in the Racing Menu again to Exit Racing Mode.

How to Train
Enter Training Mode by clicking Training in the Racing Menu.
*Select Speed or Stamina from the drop menu.
*Move using the arrow keys or W A S D keys.
*You are now Training your horse ( XP gain only occurs while you are moving with the horse).
(Click Training in the Racing Menu again to Exit Training ( Training will also end automatically when the horse has reached its daily limit based on its stamina class).
You can only train your horse ONCE daily for the amount of time allotted by the Horses Class and only in one category (speed or stamina)per day. Ex. I trained my Class D horse for 30 minutes on speed today so I will have to wait for 24 hours before I can train it again for stamina.

Speed = The Sprinting speed of a horse.
Speed is ranked using the following Class system:
S = 3x Avie Run Speed (ARS) {Highest Possible Class} 50 minutes of training time
A = 2.5x ARS 45 minutes of training time
B = 2x ARS 40 minutes of training time
C = 1.5x ARS 35 minutes of training time
D = ARS {Lowest Possible Class}30 minutes of training time
Class D is where horses start

Stamina = The amount of time a horse can sprint without recharging. Stamina is ranked using the following Class system:
S = 50s of sprinting and 50 minutes of training time
A = 45s of sprinting and 45 minutes of training time
B = 40s of sprinting and 40 minutes of training time
C = 35s of sprinting and 35 minutes of training time
D = 30s of sprinting and 30 minutes of training time
Class D is where horses start

XP is gained through training your horse in a given field (speed or stamina) to move from one class to the next you must train from 0% to 100% in the current Class of that field. XP Gains as follows:
Class D gains XP @ .5% per minute of training
Class C gains XP @ .4% per minute of training
Class B Gains XP @ .3% per minute of training
Class A Gains XP @ .1% per minute of training
Class D is where horses start

When you are finished, disconnect your horse from the HUD by clicking on the Disconnect button. You may now detach your horse and rez it in-world so it can eat.

Classes S,A,B,C, and D are trainable and CAN be pased on. When the Racing traits pass they can pass as the same class, one class higher, one class lower or two class’s lower. (This is based on the shown racing trait, not hidden traits)

**It is important to note that once a horse with racing traits is retired (past the age of 120 days) not only will it be unable to breed, but you will also not be able to train or race a retired horse. **

Racing and training are a great way to make your Amaretto horses more interactive. So search out those racing traits today and get started!

Until next time…HAPPY BREEDING!
