Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! I hope you are enjoying this stupendous Saturday.

I wanted to share some things about this day that I stumbled across during my browsing and thought you all would like. Did you know that St. Patrick’s Day is the feast day of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland and that St. Patrick was actually born in Britain.  The first St. Patrick’s Day celebration in the United States was held in Boston in 1737 and the first official parade in New York City was held in 1762.

It is also said that corned beef and cabbage is a staple at St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and that green is associated with Saint Patrick’s Day because it is the color of spring, of Ireland, and of the shamrock. And now..

A traditional Irish blessing

Just for fun…
