Greetings and Salutations Amaretto Community!
Today is March 31st! You know what that means?! Tomorrow is April Fools Day!
Two years ago, on March 20, 20023, Two Jesters joined the party in honor of this age old hoaxer's holiday.
As was stated above, there were two of them. Both were donned in historical Jester costumes. In the Middle Ages, there were two types of Jesters. It appears as though Amaretto has fashioned our April Fools Edition horses after the Professional Jesters, there were also natural Jesters that were less ornate. For those interested, here is a little quote to explain the purpose of the Professional Jester's attire.
"The licensed or professional fool was a witty and notable figure of the court, often being keen ears and eyes for the reigning monarch and offering advice on state affairs. These figures were often dressed to better help their role of delivering bad news to a monarch with a punchline and having the ability to offend noble figures without repercussions."
-Perry, T. (2022, April 29). Court jesters in medieval England. Oxford Castle & Prison.
The first was 2023 April Fools Edition Valencia Jester. These horses caught our attention with oranges and reds with highlights of yellow. The Valencia Jester Eye did have the ability to pass!
In contrast, the 2023 April Fools Edition Imperial Jester used the opposite end of the rainbow with purples, blues, and greens. The Imperial Jester Eye did have the ability to pass as well!
They offered up a whimsical coat as their hidden trait! The Amaretto Flash Razzmatazz was brought into existence for our pleasure! A cornucopia of colors adds a bit of pizazz to your herds!
