Amaretto staff always work diligently to keep the servers in tip-top condition, jumping on issues as soon as they find them, fixing glitches. Still, technology being what it is, things occasionally happen. Aren't we lucky that the few times something catastrophic has occurred, they gifted us something to make up for it!
On September 1 of 2010 they started the first Amaretto Breedables. This was quickly followed by the “Great Server Melt-Down of 2010”, To show their appreciation for their customers they created the Appreciation Horses. These came in 4 coats, the Black Dapple, Cheetah Coat, Sprinkle Coat and White Dapple Appreciation. They gave these horses out free to those who had made a purchase on the very first day Amaretto starter horses hit the grid. The coats on these amazing horses did not pass. These are still highly prized collectors items since there were so few.
A side note, as not everyone in the community met the requirements to receive these horses, in response to the community wanting the ability to buy one of their own Amaretto created the Leopard Appaloosa Horse. These horses came in 6 colors, the Black Leopard, Blotch Leopard, Brown Leopard, Red Leopard, Silver Leopard and the Tan Leopard Appaloosa. The coats on these LEs also does not pass.
In 2011, another server issue happened. As a reward for breeders' patience while Amaretto worked around the clock with engineers to migrate the Amaretto system to new servers. As a token of appreciation they released the Limited Edition Esteem Steed Horses. These Limited Edition Esteem Steed Horses were given out randomly (1 per person) to those who owned Amaretto Horses prior to May 18, 2011 and came with a Complimentary Consumable Pack. These coats also did not pass, but they each had special eyes that DID. The Esteem Steed Cyborloosa came with the Laser Eye.
The Esteem Steed Short Circuit came with the Electric Green Eye.
The Esteem Steed "The Network" came with the Data Burst Eye
Which one of these great LEs was your favorite?
I know we wouldn't wish another bad server meltdown on anyone, but isn't it wonderful that something good came out of something bad?
