As we all know Amaretto does like to keep their animals as the forerunner in the breeding market, this means they do multiple updates to their breedables to keep them fresh and up-to-date, but what that means for us is that we do have to update our breedables.
Right now, the versions for all Amaretto breedables are as follows:
🐴Horses: 7.0
🐶K-9's: 3.01
🐔Chickens: 3.0
🐎Ponies: 2.00
🦆Ducks: 1.1
But what would happen, if you didn't update?? Well that's bad, you would get a non-viable (it would give an error or Expired Breeding) Bundle, Kennel, Nest, or Basket which could not be fixed by Amaretto so it's extremely important to keep your breedables updated.
Don't fear though, all updaters are free and available to all Amaretto store locations. Here is an example of the one at the main Horse store:
So when you click on it, you will see it's free but you still need to buy it. Once you buy it run home and rez it on your land and then copy the contents to your inventory. Please read the directions included for more information. But we will briefly look at the single and bulk updater for horses.
Single Updater
For the single updater, it pretty simple, you will rez the updater near the horse you want to update and then click the horse that needs updating. You will get this menu:
Click on update and you will get a confirmation in local chat that the update is starting and will be notified when it is done. Do NOT pick up the horse or the updater until you see the confirmation that the update is complete.
That's it!! Your horse is now updated to the latest version.
Bulk Updater
The bulk updater does work a little differently so please make sure to read and understand the directions prior to using this one. Learn from me, if you don't select your settings in the menu prior to clicking update, you will end up with a mess.
So to use the Bulk Updater, rez it anywhere on your land.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This will update all animals of that breed (for examples all horses) that are on your Sim in your name so if you have animals you do not want updated make sure to pick them up while you update the rest of your animals!!
Once you rez the updater, click on it and you will get a menu like this:
At the top it will show the current settings. Make sure to adjust these to your usual settings prior to clicking on update.
Once those are set, click on update and in this example all of my horses would be updated
- to v7.0
- Movement to to Physical
- Animation set to on
- Text set to On
- Sound set to Off
- Food set to Breedable
- Range set to 5 Meters
While this updates all your breedables you will see updates given to your in local chat.
Do NOT pick up any animals or the updater until this has completed!!
And that's all there is to it. You are now all updated and ready to breed.
One fun fact, when you update a female horse who has just given birth, it will remove the recovery time and she will start building ferver. 🙂
