Myth Busting Amaretto Style

Just like in real life, Second Life, specifically Amaretto there are some myths that surround the grid.  Today we will look at some of these fun myths that we have seen people believe, even me when I started.

Charmed Horses

MYTH:  Offspring of a Charmed Horse gives an increased chance of getting a Charmed Horse.

This is completely false!!

So let's start with a very common one about Charmed Horses and their offspring.  So, first we should know is that Charmed Horses are very rare special offspring themselves which you can get from breeding any two horses together.  Breeding a Charmed Horse with any other horse can give you an increased chance of getting another Charmed Horse.

The offspring of a Charmed Horse does NOT give any increased chance of getting another Charmed Horse.  In fact, they have the same chance as any other non Charmed Horse to give a Charmed Horse.

Pure Horses

MYTH:  Horses can be pure if you always see them drop the same traits.

Again not true.  You will hear this term thrown around a lot, especially at auctions, they will say a horse is pure.  But wait, what does "pure" mean.  According to dictionary.com it means:

not mixed or adulterated with any other substance or material

But we would never know what is hidden in a horse we are breeding, even if you are breeding 300th generation white walkers, it means you have a pretty good chance of getting a white walker from them but there is also a chance that something from generations back can pop out at any time.

So for a horse to be "pure" all the hidden traits and visible traits would have to be exactly the same, so this is not going to be true.

Bundles

MYTH:  Happiness level of horses, time of day, or breeding your horses upside can affect the bundle that you receive.

NO!  None this will affect the bundle you receive.  The stats on the bundles you receive from your horses are actually based on the genetics of your horses and their lineage that are calculated by the servers to determine what stats your bundle will receive.  So basically, nothing you can do will change the stats that the server is giving your bundles, other than breeding horses that have the traits or hidden traits that you desire.

The happiness of a horse will not affect the bundle they give, it won't increase traits or give better traits or determine if the bundle will be male or female.

Albinos

MYTH:  Multiple generational albinos will have a greater chance of giving another albino.

Again, completely false, regardless of how many albinos are in a line, it will not increase your chances, so a 5th generation albino has the same increased chance of giving an albino as a 1st generation albino.
