We are now heading into August and for most children they are gearing up for back to school! Did I hear a cheer from excited parents/grandparents everywhere? Yes, school supplies have filled our local stores once again! Once again, we go through this annual shopping extravaganza with incredibly long supply lists from your local school and let’s not forget an apple for the teacher. Its never too young to teach your youngster the importance of bribery! Ummm I meant flattery…… coughs “brown noser”
History is always a favorite subject for schools to teach. So, let’s go back into the history book of Amaretto and look at one of my favorite twist horses. What is a Twist Horse you may ask? Here is your lesson of the day:
Amaretto is great for occasionally tossing in a few twists and turns. So we decided to take it to the next level and actually make a “Twist” Horse each month. The Amaretto Twist will consist of 2 different breeds that you must breed together to discover the “twist coat & eye” each month.
From February 5, 2014 until March 5, 2014 you could breed any color of Shetland and any color of Appaloosa together for the chance at one of these Shetaloosa Coats. No other qualifications necessary, just must be 1 Shetland and 1 Appaloosa any color.
The Shetaloosa Coat DOES have the ability to pass.
The Apple of my Eye Eye DOES have the ability to pass.
Another side note, did you know the Shetaloosa has the body of a Shetland? In fact, it does! Breeding full sibling Shetaloosas does give you a chance of passing an Albino and a Shetland albino.
Shetaloosas are fun to breed with their spotted coats. Many breeders put galaxy, confection, runes, reptile, zodiac, elemental and dazzle eyes in their projects to increase their chance of dropping a special coat. Add a gem crown as well for a chance at a Vaporwave. Make your full sib sets and you have super smart breeding with these little darlings.
