    PEACH BUZZ~BREEDER SPOTLIGHT

    Dear Breeders,

Well pull up a chair and get comfy because today we are going to shine a spotlight on one of your fellow breeders Miss Savanah!  This Reporter asked some tough questions and I must say Savanah passed with flying colors!  Currently Savanah is working on a few trendsetter horses.  This is one of them:

Absolutely stunning!  Alright let us see how Savanah did in her interview 🙂

    1.  When did you start breeding Amaretto Breedables?

“I believe I bought my first horse at an auction in June, 2022. My first attempt at the Monthly Qualifiers was for August and I remember getting the Coveted Circlet Fire, which was really exciting! I sold it with the help of a breeder who was mentoring me.

    2.  What types of Amaretto Breedables do you breed?

I breed everything. My largest population is horses. Don’t ask how many lol

    3.  I have seen many of your designer projects you work on.  What inspires you to design?  (an eye, coat, new trait?)

    New traits, for sure.

    4.  When starting a new design project what is your best tip on how to start?

Start with colors you really like. You can get unexpected color combinations by using the color wheel and add colors in the same family or go the opposite side and choose that.

    5.  When you have a question concerning your Amaretto Breedables how do you go about getting an answer for your question?

I keep the Amaretto Wikis on my bookmarks to hit up when looking for traits or details. The Connection is my go-to for Qualifiers, latest news, event details. And of course, the Amaretto groups!

    6.  Do you register your designers/trend setters with AMOC?

I have not registered any designs yet.

    7.  We have a new designer horse contest through Amaretto.  Are you going to participate in this?

    I am!

    8.  If you could suggest one new trait to the Amaretto Design Team what would it be?

A pink Gem Crown would be lovely, or a Magnolia, where the Poppy goes.

    9.  Do you attend classes or have you graduated Amaretto Ranch University?

I have completed the classes and will be joining the Class of 2023! Woot!

    10.  I know that you attend the Amaretto Community meetings on a regular basis.  Do you find the information helpful?  Would you encourage new breeders to attend these meetings?

Absolutely, on both counts. The Community Meetings are for the seasoned breeder as well as the new breeder because we learn new things, get a chance to ask questions and it’s a safe environment to do so. By that I mean you won’t get ridiculed for asking a question because we have all been beginner breeders, and some of us are still learning, and that’s ok!

    11.  What is the one thing you love the best about Amaretto Breedables?

That's tough to name ONE thing. Personally, as a homebound person with mobility challenges, I still get a sense of venturing out to connect with people from around the world. It’s been a blessing, to be sure.

    12.  When stacking multiple traits on your Amaretto breedable what is the first thing you work on?

I choose color combinations first that are often inspired by wild hairs as a jumping off point.

    13.  It is a trial and error when breeding your Amaretto breedables.  A labor of love!  What is the one thing you learned that would help a new breeder?

No question is dumb. The breeding community is happy to help. Just reach out through the group chats. There is always someone out there willing to help!

    14.  If there was one thing you could suggest to the Amaretto team in improving your breeding experience what would it be?

Although there is an ancestry tool out there to find a horse’s lineage, it would be great for potential buyers to click on the horse or bundle to bring up a direct link.

Thank you so much Savanah for participating in: Peach Buzz ~Breeder's Spotlight.  I hope to be doing more of this type of connections in the future.  This is Maggie Mae reporting live on trend setting news in Amaretto.
