    Tips and Tricks

At the community meeting this week a few suggestions were thrown out there to help new breeders, or anyone for that matter. One subject came up about rezzing breedables in the right land group. In case you didn't know theres a setting in Firestorm for that. First go to Avatar>Preferences then Firestorm, at the bottom of the list. The second box down is the option to always rez objects under the land group if possible. Click that. Simple right? If you have your breedables in several places and they all require different groups to rez, this takes care of that pesky problem of having to change your group tag.

Another problem seems to be stuck scripts on your breedables. With all the restarts by LL things can happen, or we forget to reset home after moving them around. A lot of the time, just a simple rerez will take care of many problems. You can also try riding them to give them a little kickstart. Sometimes that helps with laggy breeding. Remember to always check your sale settings after restarts, also check pairings after a breeding.

Food and salt for horses last about 4 weeks for one horse, 2 weeks for 2 horses, 1 week for 4 horses and 3 days and a bit fr 8 horses, so plan accordingly. If you ride any horses they don't use the salt to stay happy while riding, which can save you money. You can ride multiple horses at a time by picking them up and ADDing from inventory. They all attach to the stomach. Consumables for dogs, chickens and ducks lasts the same amount of time, but for Ponie Pals it is 6 weeks for one grub and one gummy to one Ponie, 3 weeks for 2 Ponies, a week and a half for 4 Ponies and so on. You can also hold multiple Ponies at a time to save on gummies. Just pick them up, ADD from inventory and they hang on your arm.

Dogs dogs, chickens and ducks can also be held more than one at a time. Having your breedables attached to you raises their happiness and mood, which helps with breeding. It raises a bit faster than when they are on consumables, but also uses energy a bit faster.

As for breeding, horses can breed til they turn 120.  If you breed them at 119, they will remain pregnant for 3 days til they drop the bundle at 122, then immediately retire. With dogs it is 126 days. Chickens Ducks and Ponie Pals have a limited number of breedings. As soon as they breed they drop the nest or basket. If you decide to pick them up and use them later, no matter how old they are, as soon as they are well they are breedable again as long as they still have cycles and descendents left.

Amarettos NEVER DIE. You can bring them out of inventory, and heal them with food or a Healing Kit, Flu Shot or Vaccination with horses, Chickens and Ducks, or Dogs, or Noodle Soup for Ponie Pals. Ponie Pals cannot eat well like the others.
