I have been reading the forums to try and learn what I can about raising and breeding chickens but I am still feeling a bit lost and overwhelmed.

I notice people keep talking about stamina and vivacity when you are trying to breed, but none of my chickens say that... They show: Hardiness, Resting, Vivacity and then Eaten Pet Pellets.

I have them eating barley (the % is going down so I know they are eating it) I have out orange rinds (% is going down on that also) so is all I have left to do is wait until the numbers match up? I suppose I am not fully understanding when it is they can or will breed, other then having to be over 7 days old (which they are).

Isn't there an instruction manual somewhere? lol

    Hi Calista,

There is a manual for the barnyard birds located here: If your chickens have eaten pet pellets they can not breed for at least 7 days after being switch to breeder food.
