New to Amaretto Ex ABC Breeder with Questions and Concerns

Hello all,

I wanted to make a post to first say hello and also ask a question concerning the price of petting Amaretto horses.

I am VERY appreciative of the owner offering to send ABC breeders a starter pack to try out Amaretto horses. When ABC went down it affected many people and their love of SL in a very negative way.  Many peoples SL lives revolved around breeding those horses.  I am just in the first week with my starter pack and everything is going well and I can see really enjoying these horses and very much enjoying getting to know the community, which is hugely important to me and really makes the breedables what they are. 

My question and really concern is the price to pet an Amaretto horse.  In all honesty I would have not likely even tried Amaretto horses just because of that one single issue.

Thankfully the owner reached out to the ABC community and now I am glad I did try them but my concern stays the same and while I will not speak for the ABC community as a whole I will say knowing them they get close to their horses after months of breeding and trying to get all the traits etc into a horse they want and want to keep it once it retires as a trophy of their accomplishment.  Not all but MANY do, as does myself.   Having to feed the horses for their lives and spend money on all of the things that go along with it to end up having to spend 2500$L to pet your prize is something that will drive many away once their starter packs are finished, likely myself included but we will see.

I do know there is pet food but that is still a cost and not a tiny one if you keep a few horses after all the investment you have already made in getting them there.

My main question is has there ever been any consideration to either lowering that pet potion price considerably or doing away with it all together?  I ask not because I am cheap and don't want to spend money on my beloved hobby but just in principle it will without question be seen as insulting, the price to pet these horses.  I really don't mean any disrespect to the makers or owners and I do very much like these horses and others things within the Amaretto brand therefore I want to see it do well, especially with the large ABC community that I am sure is taking a close and hard look at these like I am.

Hey star! Ty for taking the time out to check out the Amaretto horses and our website. What i can say is 2 things, one is that there are many times that we do sales where you can pick up a forever foal for half price making them only 1250.

I can not speak to how any other horses work but Amaretto horses don't ever die, and you can put them on pet food, which you could get out of the haven vendor, which virtual makes the pet food free, not costing you any lindens. 

We are always speaking with the community about feautres and things they would like to see in their horses, so ty again for reaching out! We also have lots of different events and contest where we give prizes. I can also say that Amaretto gave at least all their breeders 1 free forever foal at Christmas time as well. 

We do try to be competitive in our pricing, and to be blunt most ABC horses breeders i have spoken to have exspressed to me that Amaretto is much more affordable for them, with the cost of LEs only being 799, or food for one horse only costing 144 lindens to feed them for a month.

Avalon, hey! Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post.  I will say first I hope my post was not taken in a negative way. I really do want to see Amaretto Horses and K-9s actually be a long term breedable for me.  As for the ABC horses and breeders I think these are certainly cheaper to feed and easier to feed and breed in some ways which is great. There are a few things I like better so far.  The LEs are a great affordable thing here which is a wonderful improvement, I never even bothered touching LEs with ABC so there are some great things I have discovered so far with Amaretto that I like better and this post was really not meant to be a comparison across the board or to say Amaretto is not as good as any others, I think they are great so far.  

It really was just that one issue for me and I know it is an issue for many BUT I did not know pet food could be bought at the Haven vendor, I do not full understand that yet but I assume that is where you spend points that you get from sending horses off to horsey heaven?  I will look into that and if it works out where it ends up being free or almost free that is a great thing.  There are still many things I am learning about Amaretto and enjoying it very much, I hope my post did not seem otherwise.

The short version horses or bundles you no longer want to breed, you send those to haven for points. You can then take those points to buy consumables, pet food, or even other special Haven Horses!
