Spotlight on Important Reminders

Happy Thursday!  Today I had the opportunity to spend a little time with a breeder who is “newer” to the Amaretto Community and during our conversation I realized there were a few very important areas of Amaretto that warrant having a Spotlight shined on them.

First I want to remind everyone no matter how long you have been around the Amaretto Community there is a very important link located on the Amaretto wiki that can come in handy when you are unsure of who someone is within the Amaretto Staff.

http://wiki.amarettobreedables.com/index.php?title=Contacts

This link will show you who each one of us are and what are job titles are.   We keep our scripting and design teams busy busy busy but the rest of us are around to help you out. You are free to look for us in the Amaretto groups and say hello or ask us a question any time you like!

Next I want to show you exactly how to get to the Amaretto wiki you will hear everyone talking about.  When you open your Amaretto Social Network also known as the Amaretto Website and log in you will see something that looks like this:

web2a

At the top of that page you will see all the different sections you can go to like ARU Website, Blogs, Forum and Help.  If you click the one named Help it will take you to this page:

web2

Here is where you will find all the different wiki’s for the different Amaretto breedables.  So if you click on the Horse Manual it will take you to this page:

web1

Welcome to the Amaretto Wiki!! You will see in the list in the middle where you can find the list of Contacts we talked about at the beginning of this blog.  You will also see List of Horse Traits, this is one you will use often to look up where different traits came from and what they look like.

I want to show you how to easily and quickly find anything you are looking for on the Amaretto wiki!  In the picture above look in the top right hand corner and you will see a Search box.  You can type whatever you’re looking for in that box whether it be a trait or something about the consumables and the wiki will find it for you!

I’ll show you an example.  Lots have been asking about the Dazzle horses since they came out so let’s look on the wiki and find the Dazzle eyes we can use for these horses.  I’ve typed in Dazzle and  this is what the wiki tells me:

web8

Bam! That quick I know all the Dazzle Eyes and I can even go look at the new Dazzle Horses!  Pretty cool!

The wiki is very important for you to maximize the fun you receive from your Amaretto breedables.  The old saying “Knowledge is Power” really applies to Amaretto, since we all want you to have the Power to enjoy your breedables to the fullest!

If you haven’t done it in a while or if you’ve never done it then I challenge you all to explore every aspect of the Amaretto Wiki/Horse Manual and see all the great information you can find there!

Until next time Happy breeding!!

Interview With an Amaretto Breeder

Happy Friday Everyone !! Hope everyone is having a good breeding day!!

This week I has the pleasure of interviewing Maverick MacIntyre . He is in the groups an is attending the classes at Amaretto University. When you see him around give him a big hello !

Please tell the community a little about yourself. Where you are from and what brought you to Second Life?
I am from France. I used to be a gamer on pvp when by chance I saw a documentary about SL and thought I would give it a try.

Which Amaretto Breedables do you own?
I mainly own horses and a few K9s but have recently begun to breed chickens, where I have been lucky enough to have had some great drops. Now to pass that luck onto the horses..Haha!

How did you get started in breedables?
When I came to sl, I looked around at what was available out there. I have been breeding for over 5 years and the first breedable I purchased was a bunny, a random nest – which was not the prettiest bunny in sl history. Haha!. Later, I saw the Amaretto horses in beta version at Josaphine’s barn and moved towards becoming a horse breeder. I took a short break from sl before returning to breeding in 2014.

*Do you own other breedables besides Amaretto?
Gothic and Evo

*What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto Horses?
I have special short term projects all the while – linked to new traits or coats. However, as a long term breeder, my passion is to create quality and depth for others to use within their own herds that are many generations deep. To this end I breed, Pegasus. 24x24x24 (currently working on 25T), Double White Walkers with white traits, Double Black Walkers with black traits, Entity full sib on sib, Nulls and Galaxy eyes sib on sib.

What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto K-9s
The K9’s are for fun so I usually just buy the crazed coats for my daughter Gracey to pet at home. Haha!

What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto BarnYard Bird ?
The birds I am still learning about …luckily, I have been surrounded by so many generous people (3abrsarab, Austin and Kandy amongst others) both with their time and expertise and ability to throw eggs at me! Rofl

What is your favorite Amaretto Breedable ?
I would have to say my horses. However, I am excited by the new pony breedable and as I am a beta tester I can’t wait to get my hands on them.

What are some other things that you enjoy doing in Second Life when you’re not taking care of your breedables?
Having down time with my girl friend Blue (who helps me run our market place and auction house Empire), my children and friends.

So, there you go !! Thanks so much to Maverick MacIntyre for letting me interview you this week!!

Until next week Happy Breeding !!Maverick

Super cute right!  This is what Eve had to say about coming up with this idea:

“I really had no particular inspiration. I wanted to create something that people could use for a lot of different projects, and have fun with it.

I have to thank the Amaretto art department! I was blown away when I saw what they did with my idea…it came out even better than I expected.”

Thank you Eve! The coat, eye, and collar do have the ability to pass!
